Interactive Tables

The Interactive Tables project was an exploratory development project led by The Rix Centre Charity and generously funded by the Rix-Thompson-Rothenberg Foundation. Touch screen technologies have a wide range of potential uses and benefits to people with physical and intellectual disabilities; however the cost of a table sized touch screen can be prohibitively expensive. The aim of the project was to come up with creative and innovative ways to produce something that functionally works as a touch screen, but using only relatively cheap and readily available tools.

During the project we developed two prototype interactive tables, one at The Rix Centre and another at Tower Project in Tower Hamlets where we researched its use with learners.
